The other morning I received one of those inspiring quotes, that I get weekly from my cousin in place of the long chats we miss. " Your job is someone else's dream!"
Imagine that!
I'm in the enviable position of loving my job. Its manically busy, changeable at the drop of a hat and as a perfectionist there's never enough time to do all the things I want. But working as an Interior Designer, I get to wake up everyday knowing that no matter what happens I'm doing something that I love.
Not so fast! There are so many sides to my job that the beautiful instagram images never show, all with an emotional rollercoaster attached.
Interior Design for me is knowing how to capture the best out of my clients spaces and inanimate objects and essentially make them fall in love with the space they have.
Being an Interior Design is an emotional beast, our homes can bring out the best and worst of us when they don't work how they should.
Designing someones forever home with every penny spent riding on a clients need for a quick sale or overseeing budgets that are an inheritance, life saving can create areas of huge stress for client and Interior designer. i'm not gonna lie it seems overwhelming and at times can be.
But I've found ways that I navigate all the good and bad emotions we encounter daily, and the methods I use to help me with my design business I will share with you. X
